Buchanan County EMS Advisory Council
Who we are
The EMS Advisory Council is a body appointed by the Board of Supervisors. it is currently comprised of representatives from every EMS agency in Buchanan County, as well as the Jesup City Mayor, the Winthrop City Mayor, and the Independence City Manager.

Mission
The purpose of the EMS Advisory Council in to "Recommend to the Board of Supervisors an amount of funding to be specific on the ballot, and annually assess and review the emergency medical services needs of the county, and shall include the results of such review and assessment in an annual report filed with the Board of Supervisors".
Vision
Improve health care by promoting emergency medical services and EMS system development in Buchanan County. system development includes assessing the EMS system needs, planning to alleviate EMS system needs, and recommending processes in an attempt to assure a trained EMS workforce with equipment, supplies, and support to meet emergency medical response needs in Buchanan County.
